As a teacher, Janet is handling 26 nursery and 15 kindergarten students. She may be a bit overwhelmed with the constant presence of noisy and energetic children, it is nevertheless a very good first job. In this time of scarce employment, finding a job right after graduation is a true blessing. It gives her a good salary, teaching experience, and a church near her parents’ house in Tala. She helps her family financially and hopes to lead them to Jesus and be part of the church. She has already brought a younger sister to TUMC.
Janet looks back at her home for 12 years. "I am very thankful to the Lord I finished my college while in PCM. It’s also there that I have surrendered my life to Jesus and learned good values ." She missed the nightly devotions with the other children, her reprimands to younger children, and Ate Helen’s reprimands of her as well. All those events and people while in PCM made her who she is now. She finds fulfillment in educating the little children. To impart what she knows, both in academics and life principles, gives meaning to her career. Someday, she dreams of starting her own preschool business. How she does that, she leaves it to the Lord.
Ate Helen (house parent) misses her trustworthy and reliable assistant. Whenever Ate Helen went out from PCM for long hours, she assigned Janet to oversee the children. Now, Janet enjoys preschool children in TUMC. Her character honed in PCM is greatly needed over there. May God expand her territory all the more in the days to come!
