Colegio De Sta. Teresa De Avila
Birthday: August 20, 1992
Joy Anne is the fourth child among the six children of her market vendor parents. After graduating from high school, she wasn't able to continue her studies for one year because of financial insufficiency. Instead, she helped her father sell vegetables to earn money to be able to continue her studies. She survived her first semester in her first year by the money she earned but it was not enough. Before the second semester, lack of money was forcing her to stop her studies once again. But through PCM's partial scholarship grant, she was able to continue and is now in third year college.
She doesn't only study well but uses what she learns in her course to serve God. Currently, she is the church secretary. She updates membership profiles, PSOL student records and files important church documents. She also does the printing and photocopying of PEP-SOL materials. She is very passionate in attending to her ministry to serve God and does her work with a smile on her face.
Joy Anne is a very strong person because despite of the difficulties in her life, especially in financial needs, one can still see how her faith has made her stand firm beyond her situation. To help her parents in sustaining her needs on studies, she occasionally does odd jobs like working as a part-time waitress and as a part-time tutor. She believes that relying on God is the best way to overcome her challenges and fulfill her dreams.
She realized that God is really watching over her when He provided a scholarship for her. She really feels grateful to God and to her sponsor. Her dream to help her family and to become a successful professional drives her to study hard and finish her studies.
Joy Anne currently works in PAG-IBIG main office as a programmer. She helps to support the everyday needs of her family.
