"He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done." (Proverb 19:17)

Renier Turan

B.S. Information Technology (Graduated in 2014)
Colegio De Sta. Teresa De Avila
Birthday: October 24, 1991

Renier is the eldest and the only boy among three children in his family. They used to live in Malabon City six years ago before they were forced to transfer to Novaliches because of a fire incident. His father supports their family by driving a tricycle. To add to their finances, his mother cooks food and sells it.

He faced the hardest time of his life when his father was diagnosed with kidney problem and was hospitalized for a couple of months leaving his family without a cent to spend. Because of this, his younger sister, who was supposed to go to college, was forced to stop her studies. Renier knew that it was a must to help his mother provide for their daily needs. By God's favor, he was able to find a suitable job to be able to help in supporting his family and still be able to continue his studies.

He is known by his parents as a diligent, bright and respectful son. He performs at school well and even graduated in high school with flying colors. He is good in almost all of his major subjects. His course is connected to his passion which is arts, computers and technology. He is a working student and is currently employed at a well-known fast food chain here in the country. He is very determined to achieve his dream of having his bachelor’s degree and becoming successful in the field of information technology.

After everything that happened since his father became sick, he firmly believes that God still blessed him because he was able to find peace and joy, was able to learn perseverance, and was still able to serve God in the midst of his battle. He is grateful to God for those people who send help to his family. He is really inspired to pursue his studies because he knows that God will continue sending people, like his sponsor, who will help him in achieving his dreams.

Renier is currently working in Philippine National Bank, Pasay City, as a programmer. He is also engaged in a t-shirt printing business.
