College of Immaculate Concepcion, Pandi, Bulacan
Birthday: July 15, 1994
Maria was born in Tala, Caloocan City. Her father is severely sick of emphysema and has trouble sleeping because of severe coughing. Her mother works as a laundry woman to support their daily needs. She was five years old when she was admitted at PCM in 1999 for temporary shelter and educational assistance due to financial constraint.
After so many years in PCM, Maria is known for reliability. She helps her houseparent in cooking and preparing food for the children. She is very attentive to the needs of her fellow children especially her sister, Maricel, who is also a resident of PCM. She is very caring to the little ones and loves to walk with them around the vicinity. She enjoys cooking and reading books.
Maria is very much active in her church. She is a Sunday School teacher, youth choir member and is elected secretary in their youth organization. She is very diligent with her studies, always finds time to browse her notes and does her assignments and projects. She wishes to become a successful teacher someday.
At long last, her dream came true. Right after graduation in 2013, she was hired in as a teacher in Jubilant Youngster Academy in Balagtas, Bulacan. She teaches Grade 1 and Kindergarten children. She likes it this way because she will be able to go to Bible Believers Church and Ministry of Balagtas, the partner church of PCM, and continue to grow in faith there. She has been a counselor in Encounter God Retreat, and a mini-session speaker about Victory Over Wrong Self-Image. On top of that, she continues to be a small group leader. Very appropriate for a shy girl who has grown to be a conqueror for the Lord and be useful in His kingdom.
Maria continues to dream bigger dreams. She took review classes for her Licensure Examination for Teachers which will be held in September 2013. She plans to get a house in Balagtas and bring her parents there so she can take care of them.
